Are you ordering food from a restaurant?
I know everyone loves to eat tasty food all day. But are you making the correct choice….? Most of the time, people think about the taste of the food and forget its quality and nutritional value. Everyone must be aware of what they eat.
Choosing healthy food is not as simple as it seems. There are so many choices that we must make. Sometimes it can be hard to determine which one is best for us. So, to make a better choice, we need to know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.
Meaning for healthy food is hard to define as for one person it seems healthy can be unhealthy to another. But nutritionally, healthy foods provide us with nutrients, like vitamins and minerals, and are full of fiber. It tends to be unprocessed and as “whole” as possible with low added sugar and salt. Healthy food is perfect for both your physical and mental health.
Unhealthy foods provide only empty calories and minimal nutritional value. You may think why food becomes unhealthy; is because of the preparation method. They are highly processed and are high in added sugar and salt, and of course, added artificial flavours. Foods like fried rice, biryani, cakes, deep-fried noodles, butter naan, poori, French fries, salad with mayonnaise, fried fish and butter chicken, and sweetened fruit juice belong to unhealthy choices. Many people avoid eating healthy, nutritional food because they don’t find it tasteful. So, you are tempted to eat cheeseburgers, pizza, or more. But still, if you give preference to the taste and neglect the nutritional value, you’re asking for a health risk. This is because unhealthy food options like junk food may be too delicious, but it contains bad fats that will adversely affect your overall health in the long run, and they give rise to obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and some chronic diseases.
While choosing, be cautious as the healthy foods provide ample amount of nutrition so that you can work efficiently for a whole day without getting tired, and depression, headaches, etc.
