How frequently have you felt exhausted? Every day in this epidemic globe, possibly a million times. Jokes aside, whenever we are fatigued, we think about those pampering sessions at the salon or our favourite comfort foods. That is our current definition of self-care. 2. Emotional rest: Can you recall a moment when you had a horrible day? Or when you went through a breakup? Didn't you feel tired, concerned, puzzled, and tense all at the same time?
Emotional rest would be characterised as letting go of the feelings that have been bothering you.
"To assist in reducing emotional weariness, it is crucial to understand one's emotional triggers," explains Devisha Batra, Senior Psychologist at I Will. This will raise your awareness of the kind of conditions that are causing you to experience all of your emotions."
She continues, "After you've assessed the problem, you may work on interrupting the cycle of ideas that lead to the sensation of being overwhelmed. Consider this: what precise concepts elicit the majority of your emotions? What are the most difficult emotions? What behaviours do you usually employ to relax? What is the greatest and worst that might happen?"
This will assist people in making judgments based on deliberate consideration rather than a reflexive attitude.
3. Social rest: This may be new to you, but remember that taking time out to interact with others who share your interests is also vital.
"You may be putting off social activities because you are too busy at work, but don't. Instead, attempt to see a buddy who knows what you're going through. You might even communicate with them electronically using Zoom or Facetime. It is quite therapeutic, "Dr. Tarachandani comments.
4. Mental rest: Have you ever sat up all night worried about a variety of issues? Have you ever felt as if you couldn't comprehend things and that genuine rest was impossible? This is when mental relaxation is necessary.
"Mental rest is when you stop pushing your brain and allow it to assimilate information. In other words, taking a break to recharge mentally by taking regular brief breaks, jotting down any disturbing ideas, performing things you enjoy, focusing on sleep patterns, basic relaxation exercises, reducing unimportant jobs, or seeing friends or family members, "according to Batra.
5. Creative rest: Do you work in a field that demands you to continually demonstrate your creativity? If so, your brain needs a vacation from all of the thinking as well.
According to Dr. Tarachandani, "Take a break by going for a stroll in the woods, reading a book, or listening to music. To restore your creative energy, you must surround yourself with sources of inspiration."
